Shift of mindset arrives in unexpected ways and is often precipitated by major loss and change. Such was the case for this 53 year old woman whose background and training has been human services. With a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Master’s Degree in Social Work, I would never have referred to myself as a business woman. That, in my right brain,  creative mind was for the left brain, linear, logical ‘suits’. The metamorphosis took place when my husband and partner in co-publishing  of a magazine called Visions, passed in 1998. The publication had allowed me the opportunity to interview inspiring transformational speakers and writers whose work would flow into the category of Law of Attraction for which a signature principle is “What you think about and thank about, you bring about.”-Joe Dimartini

This line was highlighted in the turning-point film called The Secret  which I first watched in 2005.  Already possessing a keen imagination, this was a natural leap into the life of my dreams and desires. With Michael’s death came the calling to be an interfaith minister and free-lance journalist, combining my spiritual practices and professional goals.  I began using writing as a tool for what I call ‘manna-festation’ (like manna from heaven) and then incorporated creation of Vision Boards (cutting and pasting images and words that represent that which I want to call into my life) and displaying them in my home so that I can reinforce the goals. I also set intention each morning before getting out of bed “to have extraordinary experiences and connect with amazing people.” I have learned to trust the flow of life and the Universe to allow for shifts in perception. Lest you think that this is ‘cosmic foo foo’ stuff, know that it is grounded in practical results and is incorporated in business worldwide. One powerful example in my own life came as part and parcel of a long term journalistic dream-into-reality. In 2008, I had the grand opportunity to interview His Holiness the Dalai Lama after 20 years of seed planting that included all of the things I mentioned above; adding to it, composing questions as if I would be interviewing him the next day. This interview is now a chapter in my book The Bliss Mistress Guide To Transforming the Ordinary Into The Extraordinary. The book itself was a result of using the Law of Attraction since I had set the intention many years earlier, visualized it, spoke about it as if it were a present day reality, calling it “my first best seller”, imagining holding it and seeing it fly off the bookshelves, witnessing myself speaking before large groups of receptive people who have passion and purpose as their life blood as well.  I refer to myself as “a colorfully creative writer and sought after, well compensated motivational speaker”. My Vision boards currently include images of Oprah and Ellen and my intention is not only to be interviewed by them, but to interview them as well.   As far as I can see….it’s already a done deal.

These affirmational activities bring up all sorts of trepiditious thoughts that I address with growing confidence and support of those who are walking the path with me of conscious entrepreneurship.

  3. I have been ‘informing’ myself on the law of attraction since a while, the concept is amazing, and it makes sense to me…plus it is something that is shared in the history of most cultures…
On another note, an interview with the Dalai Lama? That must have been amazing..

  4. Thank you, I’m honored.
