Marketing your product or service through email is one of the most effective ways to expand your audience and get your message across. The bigger your list, the more potential customers and clients you will have at your fingertips. Part of your campaign should involve growing your email marketing list. Promoting your website is enough enough. You have to actively invite people to subscribe to your emails to make your brand more familiar.

How To Grow Your Email Marketing List

Place your subscription form on the front page of your website. Your homepage should encourage users to sign up for more information. Your blog, products, contact information and other content can be included on the rest of your website. The sign-up form should come first. Users tend to only spend a few minutes on a new website and might not stay long enough to find your subscription form if you hide it.

Offer a free e-book and have users submit their name and email address to receive it via email attachement. The e-book does not have to be long, but it should be full of useful content. While you do not have to give away all of your secrets, you should make the e-book valuable and well-constructed. Be sure to put links to your website in the PDF and include your business name and logo. Giving away free products in random drawing contests is another way you can use freebies to collect email addresses.

Collect email addresses by hosting a webinar. Let our attendees know that your email subscription will remind them of upcoming webinars and free information. Many people who sign up for webinars do not actually remember to attend them, but you will still be able to engage them with emails and encourage them to sit in for your next lesson.

Write comprehensive, informational emails with unique content and images. If your content is truly useful to your reader, they will be more likely to forward the messages to their friends or colleagues. Try to split up your information a series of lessons and encourage your readers to tune in each week. Your emails should be frequent and distributed on a very regular basis. Try to create them in advance so they will always be sent out on time.

Set up a table at a local convention centre or trade show. Put a clipboard at the front of your table so you can collect email addresses. Promoting your product by meeting face-to-fact with potential customers is a strong way to build your brand.

How NOT To Grow Your Email Marketing List

Do not buy emailing lists. There are some companies online that sell people’s information such as their email address or phone numbers. When you email people from these lists, they will usually not know how you have received their email addresses and will consider your emails to be spam.

Do not force people to subscribe to your emailing list. Make it clear that they will receive emails when they sign up. Always include an “unsubscribe” option in your messages. Subscribers should be aware of your brand and willfully opt-in to your emails.

When you ask people to sign up for your email subscription, you should make it clear that they will benefit from it. Free offers, contests, and plenty of free information will keep them coming back. Once you have built a strong email marketing list, use it to your advantage by engaging your audience and asking for their participation. Insert a link to your website in each email, as well as a call to action. If your emails have strong content you will create a following and the possibility of many loyal customers.
